Long-term leaders Cruzeiro finally were crowned Brazilian Campeonato winners after having a 2-1 victory against Goias on Sunday.

Ricardo Goulart gave Cruzeiro a 13th-minute lead but Goias were level 10 minutes later from a Samuel strike. But Everton Ribeiro struck soon after the hour mark to secure the 3 points for the league leaders and maintain their seven-point lead with two rounds remaining.

Second-placed Sao Paulo maintained the pressure on Cruzeiro using a 1-0 win against Santos. Boschilia scored the only goal with the game 10 minutes into the other half.Third-placed Corinthians earned a 1-0 victory against Gremio, with Paolo Guerrero scoring with seven minutes in the match remaining to finally break the away side's resistance.

Chapecoense were 2-0 victors against Botafogo thanks to an additional-half brace from Leandro, while Pablo Felipe scored both in halves to earn Figueirense victory against Vitoria through the same scoreline.

Second-half strikes by Jose Ze Eduardo and Joel saw Coritiba also win 2-0 against Palmeiras.Sport Recife and Fluminense exhausted a couple-2 draw, while match between Flamengo and Criciuma ended 1-1.
